Contest Rules and Guidelines

1. Decorations can include lights, craft items, characters, posters: Anything that is safely secured and displayed on your property. Each location will be judged based on its entire presentation.

2. Decorations must be representative of family values, meaning age appropriate for all children andadults to view. It is up to the judges’ discretion to determine whether a presentation is inappropriate.

3. Decorations must comply with Town of Hull rules and codes and appropriate.

4. All registrations must be completed by Monday, June 1, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

5. Presentations will be judged by Hull Beautification and Garden Club members. Judges will visit all registered locations between June 15 and June 22, 2026. Decorations must be on full display during that time to be judged.

6. The winning locations will be determined based on a majority vote of the judging panel, at the panel’s discretion based on:

• Creativity, unique design and creative use of materials

• Originality, using non -mass produced items and expressing personal style.

• Curb Appeal, first impression, how design works with building, family friendly.

• Compliance with the Federal Flag Code https://www.legion.org/advocacy/flagadvocacy/flag-code

7. Every location in Hull is encouraged to decorate for the 250th holiday regardless of whether you enter the contest

8. The winner will be announced on Friday June 26, 2026, via Facebook live at 10 a.m. Winners will receive recognition on the HNCC website and our social media as well as other recognition at a Hull Select Board Meeting.

9. Locations will be judged solely based on their displays. Any other criteria such as age, race, gender, personality or any other criteria deemed inappropriate will not be considered by the judges.

10. Employees of HNCC, their relatives and contest judges are not eligible to participate and do not qualify for the contest or any contest prizes. They are still encouraged to decorate for recreational purposes only.
